Easter Sunday With Family

How was your Easter Sunday? Mine went great for I spent it with family. It was a heartwarming bonding. It’s been a long time since we last bond together. For once this year, I was able to gather my family together for a simple outing in a local beach with semi-white sand that is about 15 to 20 minutes drive from my parent’s house. Papa, I and sister Cheem. I had on my hands a tray full of Herring-Sardenilla (or Tamban or we call it Tuloy in our place ) ready for grilling. Fresh and fatty, just yummy! But before rocking [ ... ]

First Valentine’s Day as A Wife

No, it is not today, not this year’s Valentine’s Day but the 2009′s. I just felt like reminiscing the very first time I celebrated Valentine’s Day as a wife. It maybe because I feel alone this Valentine’s Day. I didn’t received a Valentine’s greeting from my husband yet which I understand for it’s not the hearts’ day yet in a country where he is at. Anyway, I haven’t heard from him for quite a long time so not hearing from him this Valentine’s Day is not new. I am expecting for nothing, I know but yes, I do expect to [ ... ]

Pork Chop Barbecue

I prepared four chops of pork to be barbecued for lunch last week for the three of us (dad, I and Cheem).  I didn’t use any special barbecue mixture, I did it the simplest way I could think of. That’s what you do when you wake up late for lunch and hungry and you see no food cooked and served on the table for the others are still asleep. I only added salt, sprinkled some ground pepper, meat tenderizer and garlic, poured enough soy sauce on the pork meat and then barbecued it. It tasted great when cooked.

Keeping A Bedroom Comfortable

A bedroom is the so-called “most comfortable” part of a house. Well it should be comfortable because it’s where we retire at night after the long hours of completing either daily works or daily chores to get enough energy to face another busy day. That’s why if you have ever noticed when we look for a house, we first ask about how many rooms there are and how spacey they can be once a mattress is laid. Everyone has her/his own preference of a room space but everyone seeks comfort when it comes to being in a bedroom. Once talking [ ... ]

A Glimpse in My Kitchen

Take a glimpse in my almost all-white kitchen in my new apartment. It is clean white isn’t it? This is the look during the first 3 days we moved in in this apartment. Now, it is all dusty. I still have no time to do a general house cleaning yet. The dusts could wait no longer. I might do it this weekend with my sister’s help.

Butter-Fried Crab Sticks

Crab stick anyone? I was glad to have found one package of crab stick left at the frozen section of the mall last week during my grocery day. I took my sister Cheem with me at that time to help me out with carrying the baggies. We were picking the best package of hotdogs when a pack of twelve crab sticks caught my eyes. It’s been a while since I last indulged myself with some crab meats the lazy way; without having to deal with the hard shells. Boiling some and using some with shrimp for sinigang were the plans I [ ... ]
